Minister apologises for telling people not to open doors to Irish

I am actually surprised about this story, in this day and age, that anyone would be censored for a remark like this, after all it's not as if the Irish are black...

Quote:
Victoria's Consumer Affairs Minister Marlene Kairouz has been slammed online at home and in Dublin for warning Melburnians to close their door on anyone with an Irish accent.

...Actually I'm quite glad to see this because if a principle has to be applied it has to be applied universally...

Considering the stick Lebenese seem to get in Australia, the words "stones" and "glasshouses" spring to mind when it comes to racial stereotyping....

In fairness to her, she was specifically warning about an Irish group of door-to-door con men in the area, not being generically racist. Profiling, maybe.

Stupid cow.

Btw, it seems like every month I turn on the news here and hear of an Irish person being murdered in Australia. Maybe its the Irish who should be warned not to open their doors to Australians, who sound like a dangerous bunch.
