Split Thread Helicopter crash caused by China / North Korea?

The first five posts originated in the President Zuma finally resigns thread, in which they were off topic.

There was a mysterious helicopter crash in somewhere like New Mexico in America a few weeks ago which killed Gordon Bennett, and also a prominent British opponent of Mugabe, which may be connected to South African politics. Gordon Bennett was a leading white opponent of Mugabe. The last I heard of him he had been imprisoned by Mugabe. Also killed in that helicopter crash were some people with the surname Cobb. Cobb was a famous British racing driver in the 1950s.

The thought occurred to me that all this could be something to do with the Chinese, or North Korean secret service, possibly using Chinese smartphones.

WTF has John Cobb got to do with anything. he died in 1952 attempting a water world speed record. On Loch Ness to be precise.

The Cobb killed in the crash was the co pilot, from Texas.

And I think you mean Roy Bennett.

Your brain has really weird connections.

And you really must try harder.

ETA don't you have a random Zimbabwe dump thread set up somewhere? This is a thread about Zuma and SA.

ps. Roy Bennett was not British, in any way, shape or form.

ITYM Don Bennett, leader of the RAF's Pathfinder group in the Second World War. It's impossible to rule out die-hard Nazis seeking revenge as the cause of this crash, though since most of the bombs dropped by Bomber Command fell over five miles from their targets they're more motivated by propaganda because it's unlikely that Bomber Command ever killed anyone, though a five mile radius around Berlin could conceivably have encompassed the outskirts of Johannesburg. Do we know whether Jacob Zuma ever possessed an anti-aircraft gun?

I think you are correct that it was Roy Bennett. It is relevant to this thread because of the Chinese sphere of influence in Africa, including South Africa, and Bennett lived for a time in South Africa. There is some background to all this in a newspaper article on the internet:
