Absolutely it’s what he really thinks. He might have not typed the words himself, but he might have dictated it. Who would really want to talk him out of it?

Even if he didn’t mean it seriously at the time, he’s now convinced it’s true.

We know Trump is crazy because we know he believes all this crazy stuff. And we know he believes all this stuff because we know crazy he is.

Suck up.
Nobody left in the White House smart enough to be a troll.

Do you mean a stupid suck up intern wrote it, thinking it would please Dear Leader? That's a good theory.

(Edit: nevermind -- when I opened this thread I didn't see the poll or the choices, but that's the one I'll take.)

It’s not like there’s a shortage of data points.

We know that either Trump is delusional or he's a damn fine actor. And if you look at how he plays innocent, we know he's a terrible actor.

If Trump was trying to be funny, he failed miserably.
People are laughing at him over this tweet, not with him.

Totally a suck-up. They are typing what he dictates because they are all his warped ideas. But it is their thumbs typing and hitting POST button.

And very likely, since the moron doesn't read either, the same suck-ups are reading out selected responses, favourable posts and other news items to him for his "amusement". Laughing along with him too.

If his people REALLY wanted to stop him looking stupid (and maybe they don't...), they should just mime the action of typing and posting on a deactivated phone, but not actually follow through for reals.

Everyone is interested in that bit, but I am interested in this bit:

I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!).

He's totally destroyed, and furthermore obliterated the Economy of Turkey before?

60:40 Trump or a suck-up. Since it was coupled with a ludicrous threat to destroy Turkey's economy, I bumped the odds up on Trump.

The poll doesn't have an entry for my position.

Trump wrote it, because Trump was trolling (the media and folks like us), knowing it would make us a bit nuts.

To be sure, I think he probably believes his wisdom is unmatched, but I don't think that he would say so in this tweet except for the purpose of getting a rise out of some of his audience.

LOL. I saw this thread on Tapatalk at first. Couldn't see the poll, assumed that's what Trebuchet meant. Turns out it's just another Two Minutes Hate for the choir.

Perhaps folks overreact, but surely you agree that it is an odd thing for Trump to have tweeted. And a damned embarrassment, whether intended to troll or not. That's worth mentioning surely.

It's easy to be presidential, oh so easy. I wouldn't mind if he'd try.

Not as embarrassing as wearing a bike helmet while cycling though....

Odd? Try idiotic.

You can usually tell which tweets Trump wrote by the device they're written from. He has a Samsung, but almost the entire federal government has iPhones.

Do you mean to suggest that the person who...?

knows more about ISIS than the generals
knows more about courts than any human being on Earth
knows more about immigration that anyone
knows more about taxes, maybe in the history of the world
knows more about infrastructure than anybody
knows more about technology than anybody
knows more about drones than anybody
knows more about campaign finance than anybody
understands politicians better than anybody
nobody knows more about trade than him
only he alone can fix it
is an extremely stable genius

... would seriously claim to have great and unmatched wisdom? Not a chance!

I don't believe there is evidence that he is that smart. However, there is a slim possibility you are right about the trolling. But if you look the post above mine, Trump believes it and Trump was trolling the media are not mutually exclusive.

A large quantity of circular arguments don't lose the quality of being circular, just because there's a lot of them.
I think he’s insane, and I’m not relying on anyone’s circular argument.

I could agree that he's trolling... he'd rather have the petty attention to his megalomania and conceit than analytical attention paid to the action he's writing about. But... someone corrected the grammar; no way he knows to put a phrase in commas to denote apposition.

That was my take as well.

I might add that it was also designed to be a bit of a distraction as well.

Praising himself, trolling the Dems, controlling the narrative, and making sure everyone is talking about him are some of President Trump’s favorite things. Bottom line: I cannot plot the precise motivation, but I strongly suspect it falls somewhere between these four points.

Yes, and the lackey who typed it in deserves a prize for not bursting out laughing.

I think he's referring to the way in which his trade war with China is destroying the Chinese economy whilst at the same time giving a huge shot in the arm to the US economy with all that tariff money flowing in.

I mean look at the figures, the US economy is the best it's ever been, soaring away at at annualised rate of 2% whilst the Chinese economy is in freefall, shrinking at a rate of -6%. (Which is 6% growth but don't ell-tay the President or his ase-bay)

If he wasn't such a stable genius, I'd think that President Trump had delusions of grandeur.

I've only just seen the full tweet since I'm on an enforced holiday from Twitter as I'm appealing a vexatious complaint about one of my tweets (yes, I know, complete waste of time but the stupidity of the complaint got under my skin).

Totally the Orange Egotist.

Why would someone need to invent a scenario where it wasn't Trump who tweeted this to Trump's personal Twitter?

I mean, it's hardly out of character...
