Democrats Trump opponents took the bait and blamed the already distrusted and disliked newly elected president of "colluding" with Russia. In turn, Trump ramps up calling the media fake news and the battle becomes more vicious by the year. Everything Trump subsequently does with respect to Russian affairs is seen in this light.

I doubt you'll find a direct link between Trump and Russians because the guy can't keep his mouth shut and while he is a Russian asset he's also a Russian security risk.
