Probably makes sense to post a master thread here for those interested. Lots of neo-nazis and other extremists have been having a variety of legal problems, both criminal, and civil, related to their violent ideology.

Chris Cantwell, famous as the "Crying Nazi" of the Unite the Right rally, has been picked up by the feds for threatening another right winger. It's a bit of a complicated story, but Cantwell has been feuding with members of the Bowl Patrol (named after the admiration the group has for multi-murderer racist Dylan Roof, who has a bowl haircut). he was attempting to threaten a right winger for the personal information of a Bowl Patrol member in order to continue their running feud.

This is separate from Cantwell's civil suit brought from the victims of the UTR car attack that left one dead and others wounded. Cantwell has been representing himself in the lawsuit and recently submitted a 100+ page rambling document in which he quotes Hitler and is generally incoherent. Cool guy, shame all this is happening to him.

Seven members of the neo-nazi group "The Base" were arrested recently by federal law enforcement. The feds have been watching the group for some time and even had even bugged one of their residences.

3 members were arrested as they were preparing to attend the VA gun rally, planning to open fire on the heavily armed crowd hoping to instigate a mass shootout in the streets. They had illegally converted a rifle to be capable of automatic fire and had picked up a disgraced Canadian ex-soldier and fellow nazi, who fled across the US border to avoid Canadian law enforcement.

3 other members were arrested in GA after conspiring to murder a married couple in their home. They claimed that the couple was related to Atlanta Antifa. They had a detailed plan and had already scouted out the home. A member volunteered to kill any children that happened to be home during the planned home invasion.

Another member was arrested for vandalizing synagogues and immediately began cooperating with the feds.

A Maryland white supremacist was found guilty of first-degree assault, attempted voluntary manslaughter, hate crimes, and related firearms charges stemming from a Dec. 2018 incident in which he attacked two black men near Baltimore. He got into an argument with the two workmen outside, went to his home to retrieve a pistol and spare magazine, and returned to instigate a violent confrontation. As he was getting his ass beat by the two men, he shot one in the thigh. He was badly beaten and disarmed by the men, who then turned him over to the cops.

Feel free to dump any other legal action against white supremacists, neo nazis, neo-confederates, or any other right wing trash here.

Christian, 37, is facing 12 charges for allegedly killing Ricky Best and Taliesin Namkai-Meche and attempting to kill Micah Fletcher, the three strangers who intervened after Christian boarded a MAX train on May 26, held a Book of Mormon above his head, and began shouting about killing Muslims, Christians, and Jews.

He is claiming self defense. His trial is ongoing and is expected to go through February.

The White Nationalist Coast Guard officer is facing sentencing Friday. It is unclear if he will face stiff sentencing as there are no specific charges for domestic terrorism. He was found guilty of gun and drug offenses.

Thanks for starting this.

But ... could we keep it focused on White nationalists and the like, because given the polarization in the political section, saying something like ...

or any other right wing trash here.

...is going to get us a bunch of legal troubles of regular old Republican types. Maybe that's what you want, but it doesn't seem like it from our OP examples.

I am assuming the regular ole Republican types aren't getting too closely involved with racially motivated multiple murder. I think it's clear this isn't about some GOP stooge getting caught doing some white collar crime. This is a thread about violent right wing extremists.

We are in alignment.

Right wing conspiracy intersects with white nationalism. This is my shocked face.

Forgot another one. Austin Gillespie, aka Augustus Invictus, is a Nazi laywer, UTR speaker, and one time Libertarian candidate for local office.

He is currently being held in jail without bond for beating and kidnapping his wife at gunpoint and transporting her out of state.

Nice to know that even if these guys avoid criminal charges for their violent ideology, their personal lives are such train wrecks that the still often end up in jail.

Coast guard white supremacist sentenced today. Judge decided that the domestic terrorism enhancer should apply.

13 years for our boy. Sucks to suck!

Oh boy, did you see what his defence was?

"Hasson said his addiction to prescription painkillers warped his mental state, causing him to espouse racial hatred and contemplate homicidal mayhem."

The pills made me do it! :jaw-dropp

He will be 63 and still be a danger to the public when he gets out. Should have got 25 to life!

Protective order issued against crying Nazi Chris Cantwell. He is prohibited from identifying or communicating anything about his alleged victim in his interstate extortion case. His defense is receiving information as part of the discovery process. I am assuming that such an order is standard, but given Cantwell's erratic behavior and pattern of self-sabotage, I would not assume he won't break the order.

Please forgive the screenshots, pretty sure this comes from PACER, which isn't free.

I was not aware that white nationalism was a side effect of opiate addiction. You learn something new every day!

Otherwise known as 'The Roseanne Barr Effect'. Though I believe hers was Ambien.

Ambien for Roseanne Barr. Alcohol for Mel Gibson. Opiates for Christopher Hesson. It's almost like these substances can reveal your true character.

"Fine people".

Six different nazis going to court this week, including a member of The Base and the member of Vanguard America who lied to get security clearance in a Navy shipyard.

Nazis go to court this week

When I was in the US Army in the 1980's they were pretty ruthless about getting rid of members who displayed open bigotry.
If they managed to avoid court martial, the were told in no uncertain terms when their enlistment ran out it would not be renewed, and were encouraged to take an early discharge. US army can petty much refuse reenlistment for any reason it wants.

A blast from the past;
Remember when one of the neo Nazis in Charllotesville got caught on camera in the riot, and his boss saw it and fired him?

He bitched about how unfair it was,and somebody wrote this little song to the tune of "If You Are Happy And You Know It, Clap Your Hands""

If your're a Nazi and you know it, clap your hands
If your're a Nazi and you know it, clap your hands
You got spotted in a mob,
Now you lost your **********g job
If your're a Nazi and you know it, clap your hands

We used to have that in the RNZAF. There were a couple of guys on my recruit course who had gang connections; only found out when a couple of their gang pals showed up looking for a place to hide from the Cops.

This resulted in an immediate MYFC for the two civilians caught on the base, and SNLR for the two recruits.

MYFC = Mind Your Fingers - CLANG!!
SNLR = Service No Longer Required.

I wonder if Jordan Peterson's alt-right nonsense is related to his Diazepam addiction and his self-medication to try an kick the habit?

Big day today for nazis in court!

Samuel James Gulick, who is accused of vandalizing and firebombing a Planned Parenthood clinic, is scheduled to face a detention hearing at 11 a.m. in Wilmington, Delaware.

Holden James Matthews, a white man accused of setting fire to three predominantly black churches, is scheduled for a change of plea hearing at 11 a.m. in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Conor Climo, an alleged affiliate of the neo-Nazi group Feuerkrieg Division who admitted to plotting attacks on a synagogue and a gay bar, is scheduled for a change of plea hearing at 10:30 a.m. in Las Vegas.

Jarrett William Smith, an Army soldier and self-described Satanic neo-Nazi who is accused of distributing bomb-making plans online and suggesting targets like CNN headquarters and former Congressman Beto O’Rourke, is scheduled for a change of plea hearing at 1:30 p.m. in Topeka, Kansas.

Unsurprisingly, these Nazis were all pleading guilty due to overwhelming evidence.

Holden James Matthews (pictured above), a 22-year-old white man, pleaded guilty to setting fires at three predominantly black churches in Louisiana in early 2019. Federal authorities said Matthews was a fan of black metal music and set the fires to mimic a series of similar crimes in Norway in the 1990s that were tied to the music scene there. He pleaded guilty to four counts, including three hate crimes charges, and is facing up to 70 years in prison. He’s scheduled to be sentenced on May 22. (Read more from ABC News.)

Conor Climo, a 23-year-old affiliate of the neo-Nazi group Feuerkrieg Division, pleaded guilty to possessing bomb-making materials. Climo admitted to planning to attack a synagogue and an LGBTQ bar, both in Las Vegas. He is facing up to 10 years in prison for the lone federal charge and is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14. (Read more from the Associated Press.)

Jarrett William Smith, a 24-year-old U.S. Army soldier and self-described Satanic neo-Nazi, pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing bomb-making instructions online. Federal authorities said Smith talked to others online about possible targets, including CNN headquarters and former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a third charge that involved Smith allegedly threatening to burn down the house of someone named in court documents only by the initials D.H. As I’ve written about in the past, those threats involved the anti-racist podcaster Daniel Harper. Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on May 18 and faces up to 20 years in prison on each count. (Read more from the Kansas City Star.)

https://www.informant.news/p/three-guilty-pleas

Daniel Harper is mentioned. I highly recommend his podcast "I Don't Speak German" to anyone interested in neo-fascists in the US. Harper has been consuming far-right media, primarily podcasts and video streams, for years, and has an impressive knowledge of the various figures and movements.

The fascists tried to intimidate him, but turned out they were stalking some random family that just so happened to share the same name.

“The Base.”

Isn’t that the most common translation of “al Qaeda?”

These Nazis hate Muslims with the exception of actual jihadist terrorists. Then they respect and admire them.

Augustus Invictus denied bail. His wife, who he allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint and took out of state, testified against him at his bail hearing. Seems that she is going to cooperate in the case against him.

She detailed a long history of vicious abuse at the hands of Augustus. She also read aloud from his journal:

“Victims will be sacrificed; politicians will be assassinated; wars will be begun. You know these things will happen, yet you will not stop me. … And yet — though I am quite easy to find — you will not come put a bullet in my head to stop what you find so objectionable from coming to fruition. You act as though this is because of your reverence for the law — but you only hide behind the law to mask your cowardice. … There is no moral reason behind your inaction: you are simply too scared to pull a trigger. And when the day finally comes, and you gloat that you knew it all along, and you say, ‘someone should have stopped him’ — know that their blood is on your hands, too.”

https://www.informant.news/p/no-bail-for-augustus-invictus

Very fortunate for us that bail is not being granted.

Daniel McMahon, a white supremacist who threatened a black candidate for public office and successfully caused him to drop out of the race, is likely to plead guilty on March 16th.

His trial date has been removed from the schedule and a plea change hearing is now scheduled. He is charged with bias-motivated interference with candidate for elective office, cyberstalking, and threats in interstate commerce.

In other news, Jason Kessler, lead organizer of the notorious Unite the Right rally, has had his civil case against the city of Charlottesville dismissed. Kessler alleged, without evidence, that the city conspired to violate his civil rights. Sines v. Kessler, the sprawling civil suit brought by several city residents against Kessler and other prominent Nazis at UTR, continues.
