Les Jamieson and have created a petition and are pushing for a new investigation into 9/11, this time by a new Commission made up of their own hand-picked members. (Selected with the help of David Ray Griffin, so it has to be good)

Here are the proposed Committee Members (#4)

Dr. William Pepper
historian Ralph Schoenman
Appollo 14 astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell
former Sen. Lincoln Chafee
Mohawk tribal member Splitting-the Sky
9/11 widow Lorie Van Auken
Actor/activist Ed Asner
Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas Gumbleton

others to be appointed by a majority vote of the Commission members to bring the Commission to as many as 12 members. (#4) (I expect we would see the addition of Jason Bermas, Dylan Avery, Alex Jones, and Stephen Jones)

If additional Commissioners or candidates are needed to fill vacancies, a selection panel of 3 persons will be named by Dr. William Pepper and/or Carl E. Person from individuals who have published a book, film, magazine article, or website about 9/11 to draw up a list of additional candidates. (#4)

So Lyte Tripp, Dylan Avery, Killtown, Alex Jones are all eligible. Something tells me they wouldn't be knocking on Gravy's, or Popular Mechanics' door.

Now to the REALLY good part.

They want $10,000,000 per year to run this, with a time limit of 5 years. (#8)

Each commission member gets a salary of $112,500, and up to $20,000/year for expenses.(#14) The best part is, they're not even required to work on the Commission full-time! (#16)

A few problems I see:

1 - Committe is made of twoofers, selected by other twoofers.
2 - Members are paid a very large salary.
3 - They're asking for $50 Million.

Looks to me like this is all about the money. This is their ticket to get a 6-figure salary, and spend $5 Million hiring any "expert" they want. This would ensure that even once they complete the investigation with no evidence of a conspiracy, at least they are a few million dollars richer.

up to 132k a year and they don't have to work full time? What the hell... this isn't congress!!

Holy (Rule 8) Chraiste!!!

And they wonder why we are opposed to their NEW INVESTIGATION!!!

I suppose to open the commission they'll all join hands and sing "all we are saying....is give peace a chance!!!"

I hope they submit this...Every time they do something ridiculous, I want it to get maximum attention from the media...I only wish I could be there to hear the insane laughter when officials read this petition.

This petition is only to get it on the ballot in November.

They have to get 30,000 signatures (in about 60 days) to even get it presented to city council members, who can then choose to deny it. If they deny it, the twoofers need another 15,000 signatures to override the city council and it'll go to the mayor, who can deny it.

If they get all the signatures, and the mayor doesn't stop it, then it would go on the ballot in November, and would have to win there.

No doubt this will be stopped before it ever gets to the ballot and they'll cry foul.

My favorite part of the whole thing is the proposed commission member who goes by the name "Splitting-the-sky".

Anybody know why Lincoln Chafee's on that list? He and Bishop Gumbleton are the only ones who don't appear to have some "woo" in their past. I suppose Gumbleton's picked because of his antiwar activities.

Ahhh, so that's why truthers are always so reluctant to explain what their new investigation would look like.

Doing so would make them look like as dumb as Les Jamieson.

Ed Asner is still alive?!

Yeah, he pops up on the The Tonight Show every now and then for Leno's "Does This Impress Ed Asner?" (Maybe Les should call it that.)

And hell, why we're at it, why not add Abe Vigoda to the panel?

Here is my favorite line in the whole document... somehow this petition will apply globally...
18. The Commission shall have the power to seek the appointment of a special prosecutor anywhere within New York State or in any other State, country, or jurisdiction.

Cool. I want that power too. I just know that Malawi isn't telling us everything. And by "jurisdiction" I assume he means "universe." Jamieson is, after all, a Urantia cultist.
