Look, we have guests, who came here today, who have a lot of questions for some unsolved or unresolved things that are happening in their lives.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Right, right.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
And they want some answers from you. Now, our first guest was walking her dog--and this is really just disturbing--walking her dog on, on the beach when she made a gruesome discovery.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Eww.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Take a look at this.

CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
February 5th, it was time to walk my dog, Monty. And we walked up the street where I live to the beach. And I let the dog go. And he likes to run. He was having a good time. And I was picking up seashells. I happened to look up, and there was some large pieces of driftwood that had been washed up on shore. And I ran over there to investigate. And I looked down, and I saw a bed sheet. I was very stunned when I saw, and I realized it was a child's body. I called 911. Yeah, I'm in Rockaway Park. I just found a body of a child. Well, it turned out to be a boy between 3 and 5 years old.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
To think that somebody could do this to a child and dispose of him like that, you know, broke my heart. When I walk by the area, I have a sense of the child's hand holding my hand. And I'm wondering if this child is still asking for help trying to solve this murder or if this child is finally at peace. I was hoping that maybe Sylvia Browne might help the police get closer to finding out who did this.

MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Please welcome Cecilia to the show. And I, I should say, Cecilia, this crime has now been unsolved.
APPLAUSE
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Unsolved.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
And an organization did step up to the plate. And we should give a round of applause for the Children of Hope Foundation. (Unintelligible)
APPLAUSE
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Oh, yeah.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
They, they stepped up to the plate and actually gave this young man a name and then a proper burial or funeral.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yes. They named him John. Well, the Rockaway police gave him the name Valentine--John Valentine instead of John Doe, because he was found in February.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Oh.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
The Children of Hope Foundation adopted his body legally, gave him the last name Hope. They've buried 87 unknown children's bodies.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
That's horrible.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
But they have a baby safe haven, and they've saved the lives of about 850 children to this day by getting an adoption.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
All right. This is unbelievable, really.
APPLAUSE
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
I just wanted to say that that organization really deserves a round of applause.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
They deserve...
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
But this is crazy.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
...a lot of kudos.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
This is crazy. So...
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Yeah, the kid's name was really Andy, though.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Andy?
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Yeah, it's okay. I mean, I don't think they care what you name them, but...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yeah.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
...he was--he'd been on some kind of a sail ship or something. I mean, a ship, do you see what I'm saying? And with a stepfather, and the stepfather was, you know, and killed him. And just threw him...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
That's what I felt, too.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Yeah.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yeah. The, the police said they didn't believe it was local because nobody came forward in the crime.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Uh-uh, uh-uh. It wasn't local.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
What they thought, maybe another country. And when the ship's on the horizon threw him over board, yeah. Yeah.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Yeah. It came, it came, yeah. Yeah.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
So this will never be solved?
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Never.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
No. God will take care of it.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
You know, but dear--but now, here's the question. So does that little boy's soul have some sort of solace? Is it...
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Oh, no. The little boy made it right away, thank God. She was just...
APPLAUSE
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
...she was just the--what do I wanna call it? The instrument of finding the child, you know, so you that could bring it probably to the press.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yes. Because that was mysterious, too, yes.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
You know? You know? Everything happens...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
I was supposed to have surgery the week before and, mysteriously, my white blood cells were so elevated that on the surgery table, the doctors said I will not need this operation.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
See, nothing's by accident.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Exactly.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
There's no accidents.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
I thought the angels put the seashells down.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
I think they did so you would follow him.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
The next day, there were none there.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
And then the driftwood that you could make something out of, and it made a trail right to the...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yes, yes.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
And maybe it was all about...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
I feel like, if anything, 'cause on his funeral that we had, Timothy Jaccard, the president of the Children's of Hope Foundation, said that this child was a hero because a woman who read about this baby came forward and gave her child to them, and then they put her into a, a rehab, and they gave the baby a new home.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
See?
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Absolutely. Somebody saved a life.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
You know what? If people don't want their child, then drop it off at a place that will take care of it and instead of...
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
And there--every--I think right now, almost every hospital in the country...
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Yeah, will take it.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Has opened up...
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Fire department, police stations, plus this, like, Children of Hope.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Fire department.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Anyplace that has a facility.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Call 411 and ask where you can take it.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
And you know what? Now, maybe this, this whole reason why you found this, this little boy, Cecilia, was just to come on the show today...
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
Mm-hmm, that's right.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
...and tell people to give somebody some hope.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
And, and bring, bring people, you know?
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Yes.
SYLVIA BROWNE (BEST SELLING AUTHOR AND WORLD RENOWNED PSYCHIC)
They won't get into any trouble. But why put him in a--you know, I don't even wanna talk about it, but trash. Everything that's happened, it just makes me sick. But trash barrels and toilets and--I mean, take him to the hospital, or like you said, fire department, police department, anywhere.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
Police department, drop them off. Absolutely.
CECILIA (WANTS TO KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE CHILD'S BODY SHE DISCOVERED ON THE ) BEACH
Thank you.
MONTEL WILLIAMS (HOST)
I've got to take a little break. I'm gonna get some questions. Yes, ma'am? You had a question for Sylvia. Go right ahead.

Honoring an Unknown Child Found on a Beach, and a Long-Lost Vietnam War Pilot

On Feb. 5, Cecilia Davis, a 47-year-old nurse, was walking her dog, Monty, and looking for shells on Rockaway Beach, in Queens, when she saw a cute bedsheet adorned with Disney characters and nestled in the sea foam and seaweed.
Then she saw a tiny, discolored foot sticking out.
''I thought at first it might be a dead seal, but then I saw the little toes,'' she recalled yesterday. ''I'll never forget that day in my life.''
She called the police to the spot near Beach 114th Street.
The body was badly decomposed, but investigators determined it was that of a boy who was about 3 years old and had broken ribs and vertebrae.
Despite news media attention, no one has claimed him and he has yet to be identified.
But yesterday, there was a poignant tribute to the little boy near the spot where he was found: a funeral Mass attended by many Rockaway residents at St. Rose of Lima Church on Beach 84th Street, which overlooks Rockaway Beach.
People came in police uniforms, Catholic school outfits, suits and beachwear to view the coffin -- the size of a large shoebox -- in front of the altar.
The boy had been given the name John Valentine Hope by the Children of Hope Foundation, which organizes burials for unclaimed children.
The parish pastor, the Rev. Peter Gillen, said the Mass and told some 200 in his church, ''We come here this morning to restore hope where death was found.''
Father Gillen offered encouraging words and commended officers from the 100th Precinct who were ''touched to the heart by the mystery of a life that ended too soon.''
He called the child's life a mystery -- ''Who is he? Where's he from? What happened?'' -- but added, ''He has a dignity that even a mysterious death cannot take from him.
''His life and death are now forever entwined with ours.''
He said the tragedy of a violent death was worsened by a further ''violence of silence'' by the boy's parents, who never claimed him.
''It's that violence of silence that makes this mystery continue,'' he said.
As the church bells tolled, the coffin, which was barely big enough to support a modest bouquet, was carefully carried out by two police officers.
Outside, seagulls squawked in the air and a bagpiper played while the coffin was slid into a hearse made for much bigger loads. A police helicopter flew overhead in a salute and members of the Blue Angels motorcycle club roared their engines and escorted the hearse way to Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, N.Y., where the Children of Hope Foundation has buried other abandoned children in their tiny coffins.
Father Gillen looked out at the ocean and said, ''Here's a baby whose life ends on the beach.'' He added, ''It's hard to imagine no one claiming a connection to this baby.''
The foundation's president, Timothy Jaccard, 55, a medical officer with the Nassau County Police Department, said that publicity from the funerals has encouraged troubled mothers to call the group for counseling, or even to offer their babies for adoption.
Ms. Davis, who lives near the beach where she found the boy's body, said that yesterday's service ''brought humanity to the child.''
''I just wanted to see this child given a name and place to rest,'' she said.
As far as I can tell, the death of John Valentine Hope has never been solved.
