If paranormal abilities actually exist what should we use them for?

If these claimed abilities really exist, what kind of purposes would you like to see them be used for?

For example if Remote Viewing exists, I would like them to locate Osama Bin Laden.

Or if mediums can talk to the dead I would like them to be able to ask the murder victims who killed them. None of this "I see a red car and a wood near water" stuff, but actual useful information.

Any suggestions as to how paranormal abilities could become more than just interesting stories, but actually contribute to our life?

But mediums might not want to get involved in murder cases ... if they do give substantial evidence then some people would expect that there's more than meets the eye to the medium ... they might have sinister suspicions of the medium ... they may think the medium was involved or trying to protect someone using a cover-up.

Remote viewing can't always be controlled on demand.

Healing is very useful.

Did I ask for a debate on the nature of these abilities and a discussion of the usual excuses given by people with these extraordinary abilities?
No.

The question was this:

If these claimed abilities really exist, what kind of purposes would you like to see them be used for?

Remote viewing can be controlled on demand, its just not great for finding people/things unless you have narrowed down locations and you can relate them too nearby landmarks/object/geological formations etc. especially if they move around alot because its a time consuming process. Dowsing is supposedly well designed for finding people.

It seems to me that the ability to accurately predict the future ( precognition, clairvoyance ) should just about take care of any possible problems that could come up for anyone. It would stop crime, warn you about health hazards or problems, even natural catastrophes. Knowing about these in advance could negate them completely.

Ashles..

LOVELY…

Nice way to keep the focus on how ridiculous paranormal stuff is.

If it EVER existed .. some sort of real useful stuff would have eventuated.. what do we have… NOTHING !!!

I love it when you focus on this the woos come out with the most INANE excuses for why we have NOTHING…

Just check Jambos’ nonsense.

BS,

Future clairvoyance is the MOST bogus of all paranormal claims. The paradoxical nature of its existence makes it impossible (like time travel).

If you can see the future you can prevent the future therefore the future you saw never existed therefore you could never see it the first place !

I thought this was just an exercise in imagination. If I believed any of this stuff I never would have come near this forum, ever. I don't consider "speculation" to be an evil thing. I think it is clear that this is not to be taken seriously.

BS,

Oh yeah.. I didn’t mean it to sound like I was having a go..

In fact I completely saw your point.. if it would solve everything .. why do we still have all the problems.

Welcome BTW.

If I was speculating I would think that reading thoughts etc COULD be possible in the future (with help from science).

If we work out what electronic impulses mean what in our brains and attach some sort of transmitter to our heads then we could conceivably send those thoughts out.

Thanks for the welcome. I guess its dangerous to make any comments here that seem to support the enemy. I have visions of "Sceptic Squads" being dispatched to my location to silence me. By the way, you don't know where I could sign up for one of those "Squads", do you?

BS,

I didn’t mistake what you were saying as support for wooism (it was a wish thing as per the topic).

I merely wanted to say that Clairvoyance (in terms of future seeing) can NEVER be possible anyway

Sorry for keeping it going. I understand, I'm just being bad.

Dowsing should be used to locate land mines (does not matter it works or not, the mines will be located).

Contact with the dead should be used to obtain new evidence about the nature of our universe (er... beyond the fact that contact with the dead would in itself be new evidence about the nature of our universe).

Remote viewing could be used to discover and prevent military hostility (in other words... to promote world peace).

Predicting the future should be used to predict what other psychics will predict in the future (hopefully causing a chain effect that would disable all future predictions).

War war and more war. the african rebel leader would use it to find out which enemery villages were not being protected. The terroist would use it to find out the launch codes on nuclear weapons. The hacker would use it to obtain passwords. The number of militry and criminal aplications are quite impressive.

How about restarting stopped timepieces and bending cutlery?

How about astral travelling to Mars and save billions on the space program?

How about unlimited free energy?

I'd take my clairvoyance to the roulette table. Or maybe I'd hire a team of clairvoyant stock brokers.

You're not very good at this, are you?

Personally, I use my powers for mischief. If I used them for good, people might begin to suspect me...

By the way, did you see me in action during last year's Superbowl? Wardrobe malfunction, ha! Which reminds me, Paul McCartney doesn't wear any underwear.... I'm sensing a repeat!

(Jambo... seriously... sniffing paint kills.)

Vegas Baby! That's where all the X-Men would be if we had any.

Or you could use the telephone.

If “they” were existed:

First application of whatever power would have been in combat. (Can't think of anything that wasn't first tried out in "combat".)

Crime detection: The practical uses are mind boggling and crime detection has always been quick to use any new tool or technology.

Disaster prevention or rather disaster mitigation (imagine Aid Agencies knowing where the next earthquake was going to happen before it happened, even if evacuation wasn’t possible they would be better organised and prepared to mitigate the humanitarian problems.) Talking of disaster - finding people buried alive (and dead) in buildings.

Sex industry - I'll leave it to your imagination.
