This just in..there will be an official announcement coming later..

We are no longer going to Belize for some reason. Royal Caribbean has removed Belize from the itinerary and replaced it with Cococay, Bahamas.

Never heard of it? That's because it's a private island owned by the cruise line.

What does this mean? Nothing more than that. The schedule is changed..we'll be at sea the day we were supposed to be in Belize and then at Cococay that last day. We'll be there from 10:00-5:00.

Cococay is a great place..lots of fun. I'll put up all the details, but it will take some time.

I'm just letting you folks know first...

Jeff

Well.
That depends on how you define 'date'.

But seeing as I booked plane tickets and hotelroom already :D.

*edit*
As I look at the royal carribean booking page it appears as if 28 aug- 2 sept. is still correct *sigh of relief*

Aw, i thought for one moment the ship was re-routing down the Grand Union canal to pick me up :(

Dang, that bites. Belize is the one place I was *really* looking forward to finally seeing. I've already been to Cozumel, the Bahamas, etc. Ah well. Somehow, I still think this cruise is going to be a lot of fun.

*Edited to make the language more family friendly.

Yes, Belize was the "unusual" port for this trip. But what I've been hearing is that it's just completely overrun with tourists now. I don't know if that's why they changed the itinerary.

The good news is that we'll have a lot easier time of doing stuff as a group on Cococay. I'm thinking of organizing a scavenger hunt with a prize to be awarded during the Farewell party the last night of the cruise. The island would be great for that. :)

Sorry Duppy.

Not your fault. :) As for the scavenger hunt, are you going to hide the immunity idol somewhere?

Actually, in looking at the link you sent, the island has a lot of activities available. No Mayan ruins, but hey. It's a private island. Less exciting: the floating mat excursion. More exciting: parasailing. I've never done that!

We'll definitely have fun there, but it doesn't give us another country to check off.

Cozumel has ruins of course.

Immunity idol..hmm... That gives me some ideas...

It also means we'll get an extra day in The Triangle, which supposedly is the main "destination" for the cruise, right? Why not try to come up with some sort of activity built around it?
