Another way to look at that is, in the last election 40% [actually 34%] of the voters in Greene's congressional district didn't vote for her. They voted for her opponent. In browsing local news sites I found there is a lot of opposition to Greene locally, up to and including trying (unsuccessfully) to remove her from the ballot.

Quote:
A federal judge cleared the way on Monday for a group of Georgia voters to move forward with legal efforts seeking to disqualify Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from running for re-election to Congress, citing her role in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. New York Times link April 2022
That trial included the memorable exchange when Greene was asked by the plaintiffs' attorneys about contacting trump, White House staff or other members of Congress about activating martial law. Greene's answer? She testified she couldn't remember.

emptyg seems to be going full on into self-destruct mode. This week she ratcheted up her attacks on fellow Republicans after her motion to censure Rashida Tlaib failed to clear the House by a 222-186 vote.

Quote:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) accused Republicans who voted against censuring Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) of hiding “behind excuses,” while launching several personal insults at the opposing members in a series of tweets Thursday, the latest spat to showcase Greene’s falling out with the far-right.

She also accused [Rep. Chip] Roy of wanting to keep “CNN wannabe Ken Buck,” the Colorado Republican House member who announced his retirement Wednesday, and “vaping groping Lauren Boebert” in the Freedom Caucus, referring to an incident at a Denver theater in September when Boebert was kicked out of a Beetlejuice performance and caught on surveillance camera vaping and suggestively grabbing her date. Greene also went after Republicans for failing to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, doing “nothing” to stop the first impeachment of former President Donald Trump and preventing the DOJ from becoming “the very tyrannical government our founding fathers warned us about.” Forbes magazine news link

Edges of the far right are being shed by even themselves as too risky. Santos is out, trump is in hot water and not being saved, this idiot is being curbed if not shut down in her dumbest efforts.
They are selling each other out faster than the D side can.

It's hardly the end of alt right stupidity but any step towards it is good.

The funny thing is -- and the past few posts brought this to mind -- I once read a local news interview with a woman who had been friendly with emptyg when they were in high school. She described greene as someone who "thought of herself as a special person" and wanted others "to notice her." She wanted to be the center of attention.

I often think this is probably what her political career is based on. No deep political philosophy or beliefs, just a desire to be seen and heard. She seemed to learn how to garner attention while posting on social media. Below are quotes from a page on the Southern Poverty Law Center's website, uploaded in August 2019 when greene first began talking about running for public office.

Quote:
Greene’s rise appears to have started in February when she livestreamed various encounters on Facebook. She uses a cheery persona and smiles to sugarcoat a message of intolerance toward different targets – all based on the opportunity for publicity. In a two-day span that month, Greene accused U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters of “inciting violence against MAGA patriots,” touted a petition to impeach House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and accused Rep. Ilhan Omar of marrying her brother so he could gain U.S. citizenship.

In all cases, the videos resulted in a spike in online interest in Greene and her anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim musings. She’s used hate-mongering stunts to gain attention, going as far as ridiculing a survivor of the Parkland, Florida, high school shooting that left 17 students and staff members dead. These episodes have propelled the political novice in her run for Congress, and she reportedly placed second in a straw poll for the Republican nomination at an event in Cobb County, a key part of the 6th District. SPLC link
Although planning to run in Georgia's 6th Congressional District, she instead relocated to the heavily Republican 14th District in late 2019 after the incumbent announced he would not seek reelection. She won the 2020 Republican Party primary but failed to gain a majority. She won the faceoff primary against the next highest vote getter with 57% of the vote. She scored a landslide victory over her Democratic opponent -- who'd withdrawn from the race by Election Day -- in the November election. She won reelection in 2022 though she did not do as well as in the previous election.

Looking at local media, I get the impression that though greene obviously has a lot of local support, she is also very polarizing. Local media have criticized her for failing to adequately represent the people of her district. One issue had to do with securing funding support for a local medical center -- in a part of her district with very few medical facilities -- which greene seemed to largely ignore.

To be fair, I can't recall if I have or haven't contacted members of Congress about organising a coup. It's a few years ago now.

Considering this further, I feel like this is a characteristic shared by most people in politics or show business. It's not exactly flattering, but it can have good or bad results, so something else is going on that makes the difference.

emptyg undoubtedly knew she had sent texts to Mark Meadows suggesting that trump declare "Marshall law." She doesn't want to have to admit that at a hearing aimed at disqualifying her from running for Congress. For one thing that would lead to other questions she'd not want to answer. But she knows that maybe the plaintiff's have a witness or a copy of the text, so she doesn't want to deny it and get caught lying. That leaves one alternative.
Quote:
“In our private chat with only Members, several are saying the only way to save our Republic is for Trump to call for Marshall (sic) law. I don’t know on those things. I just wanted you to tell him. They stole this election. We all know. They will destroy our country next. Please tell him to declassify as much as possible so we can go after Biden and anyone else!” Greene wrote to Meadows on January 17, 2021. CBS News link
Can't remember suggesting 'Marshall' law?

Hey, they know I'm lying but they can't prove it!

From the Vanity Fair link above:
Quote:
Marjorie Taylor Greene, for one, has demanded “Every member of the Jan 6th committee, Nancy Pelosi, FBI, DOJ, DC Police, Cap Police, [and] Jan 6 witnesses” be prosecuted. ...

Over the weekend, House Republicans released thousands of hours of footage from January 6 after newly elected Speaker Mike Johnson announced his intention to do so. The response from the far-right? Incredibly reasonable. Devoid of conspiracy theories. Definitely not anything that could be described as “unhinged” or “completely insane.”

Just kidding, of course. Instead, right-wing Republicans unsurprisingly lost their minds and dove even further into the deep end of deranged, half-baked explanations for what really happened on January 6, 2021. Leading the charge was Utah senator Mike Lee, best known for saying in late 2020 that he was spending “14 hours a day” trying to help Donald Trump steal the election and urging then chief of staff Mark Meadows to grant lawyer Sidney Powell an audience with the president.
Oh my word!

Marjorie Taylor Greene Alleged A Male Republican Got Physically Aggressive With Her

In a private meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson last week,
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accused fellow Georgia Republican
Rep. Richard McCormick of getting physically aggressive with her,
according to multiple sources familiar with the matter – a charge
that McCormick has denied, saying it was a “friendly gesture.”

Greene claimed to Johnson that McCormick grabbed her by the shoulders
and shook her following a public spat they had over competing resolutions
to censure Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, the sources said,
and asked the speaker to address the issue. McCormick voted against
Greene’s censure resolution and then introduced his own, more narrow
version – which prompted Greene to say to reporters at the time that
McCormick had his “ego bruised.” She also publicly bashed other
Republicans who voted against her resolution.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Oh wait... Wrong thread.

Maybe he should have grabbed her by the genitals.

Or was he not famous enough for that?

If it were any other political party, I might give them the benefit of the doubt. But we are talking about the republicans here... I think they have destroyed any sort of 'good will' anyone might have towards them.

Like Trump a few days ago not recognizing the name, Stefanik, which is pronounced ste-fa (accent on fa) -nik. Trump pronounced it Ste (accent on ste) - fa-nik.

So what is 'in-dick-table'? Curious minds looked it up. Indictable means capable of being indicted. According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition it is pronounced ĭn-dī′tə-bəl. The 'c' is silent in the pronunciation of the word.

Surely every single one of those raving Trump ass lickers has seen and read and heard the word "indictable" countless times over the last 5 or 6 years. If we didn't know her better, it would seem EmptyG is doing this ultra stupid **** deliberately as a distraction. Georgia, next time there is an election and the choice is between this fascist blockhead and a rabid racoon with a gumboot on its head...choose the boot boy.

I'm not sure what EmptyG's background knowledge was before she joined the Dunning-Kruger Congressional workforce. I'm guessing it was pretty empty.

What follows is a summary of Wikipedia articles.

Marjorie Taylor Greene was born in 1974, in Milledgeville, Georgia. From 1804 through the civil war, Milledgeville was the capital of Georgia. It is still the county seat of Baldwin County. Its two-county micropolitan statistical area has a population of a little over 50 thousand, with about 17 thousand in Milledgeville itself.

Greene graduated from a Cumming high school in 1992, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1996 from the University of Georgia.

In 2002, Greene's father sold his general contracting company to Greene and her husband. Greene was CFO from 2007 to 2011, but investigative reporting found she "had no significant presence at the company."

Greene then became a part-time coach at a CrossFit gym. In 2012, she and another person started their own CrossFit gym. That enterprise lasted until 2017. Greene is on record as saying she and her partner "knew little about how to run a business" when they started their gym.

The 2016 presidential primaries brought Greene into politics. She wrote scores of articles for conspiracy-mongering and fake news web sites, and went on to take an official role in the far-right Family America Project. Greene attracted national attention by saying Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlalib were not legitimate members of the US House of Representatives because they had been sworn in on the Quran instead of the Bible.

Greene ran for election in 2020 and was sworn in on the Bible.

Here's a list of what she has accomplished as a member of the US House of Representatives:

So what is 'in-dick-table'? Curious minds looked it up. Indictable means capable of being indicted. According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition it is pronounced ĭn-dī′tə-bəl. The 'c' is silent in the pronunciation of the word.

That Trump didn't even know how to pronounce her name must have come as quite a kick in the gut to Stefanik considering the amount of time she's spent up his arse.

If I were writing her speeches, EmptyG would be confessing to treason every time she opened her mouth.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/mtg-an...-mandate-fines

During the height of the COVID pandemic, EmptyG and two of her MAGA moron cohorts, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep Ralph Norman (R-SC) refused to wear a mask in the House as some kind of freedumb protest against mask mandates. This action was contrary to the rules of the House set by Nancy Pelosi.

Every day the "Vacant One" and her moronic buddies refused to wear masks, it cost them $2,500. They broke the rule so often, the total amount of the fines came to over $100,000... each.

But they didn't want to pay. The "Vacant One" thought they could get these fines overturned, so they took it to the The House Ethics Committee

Failed - the HEC ruled they had to pay the fines. MAGA Marj was undeterred - they took it to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Failed, they too ruled the fines had to be paid. EmptyG convinced the other two douchebags to appeal the decision to The District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Failed, the DCCA rejected the appeal and sent it back to the lower court. So, in for a penny, in for a pound, they appealed to SCOTUS.

Failed, SCOTUS also sent it back down.

Instead of burying their pride and wearing masks, they are now out $300,000, plus whatever it cost them to file all those appeals - likely at least double on top of that 300K.

The stupid... it burns!
