In the normal world we used to inhabit, wouldn’t that be deemed ‘prejudicing the outcome’?

I suppose the irony of this is lost in the bragging.

I would truly love to be a fly on the wall inside the WH. It must be fascinating.

That's why I'm so thankful for Twitter (and his insistence on using it) this time around.

I first read that as "prejuicing the outcome". :)

Yippee! More Debt!

Any fiscal conservatives here?
Because there sure aren't any in government.

The drunk teenagers in charge of the country are quickly stealing all the money before the adults get back after the Midterms.

Seriously, this is theft, plain and simply.

Hopefully, there are still four grownup Republicans in the Senate.

Yeah, this is some crazy orgy of looting the country while the getting's good.

:(

The Senate won't even address it. This is sitting GOP House members trying to wave the Flag of Good Intentions back in the hustings. The minority should introduce a Free Ponies Bill which will also not see the light of day. When the incumbent brings up that he/she tried to give them more tax cuts but were blocked, the Dems can counter with "It was a Republican Senate that blocked those tax cuts, just as they blocked the National Pony Plan we proposed."

given how unpopular the last tax cut was, do Republicans really think they can score points with voters by tripling the amount?

They do, because it's good for the stock market (for now), so it can be used to claim that "the economy" is doing great.

The Creepy Porn President's administration is shifting their position on global warming from denialism to fatalism.

Last month, deep in a 500-page environmental impact statement, the Trump administration made a startling assumption: On its current course, the planet will warm a disastrous seven degrees by the end of this century.

A rise of seven degrees Fahrenheit, or about four degrees Celsius, compared with preindustrial levels would be catastrophic, according to scientists. Many coral reefs would dissolve in increasingly acidic oceans. Parts of Manhattan and Miami would be underwater without costly coastal defenses. Extreme heat waves would routinely smother large parts of the globe.

But the administration did not offer this dire forecast, premised on the idea that the world will fail to cut its greenhouse gas emissions, as part of an argument to combat climate change. Just the opposite: The analysis assumes the planet’s fate is already sealed.

That's better position, I think.

They are stealing the Libertarian Party's environmental policy:

Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate for president, takes what he calls the “long-term view” of climate change. “In billions of years,” he said in 2011, “the sun is going to actually grow and encompass the Earth, right? So global warming is in our future.”

Nah. The first six investigations were, far as I know, normal background checks that had nothing to do with any unusual allegations about Kavanaugh. The seventh is a bit unusual.

Business as usual of late. There is no significant presence of fiscally conservative voice in Congress. The only money they seek to cut is that of the opposition's prime concerns.

They also only look into your adult life so events before you turned 18 usually aren't covered unless admitted to or well known. Kavanaugh was 17 at the time the incident occurred according to Dr. Ford.

I actually think it's overly authoritarian parenting that churns these people out. In the countries where spanking is banned, they don't seem to have this particular problem with half the body politic.

Other than that, yeah. Also, here's a suggestion for Trump's 2020 campaign slogan. https://twitter.com/mtaibbi/status/1045785052758650887 His base would eat it up, too.

I have an old book by Hans Eysenk - Fact and Fiction in Psychology from the 1950s.

It has a chapter on the psychology of anti-semitism, and in the text describes other fascistic attitudes.

In it - it does mention that being smacked as a child does tend to be correlated to authoritarian beliefs as an adult.

As it's a paperback, I won't type it out.

Trump tweets

"Senator Richard Blumenthal must talk about his fraudulent service in Vietnam, where for 12 years he told the people of Connecticut, as their Attorney General, that he was a great Marine War Hero. Talked about his many battles of near death, but was never in Vietnam. Total Phony!"

"Heading to West Virginia now. Big Rally. Will be live on @FoxNews tonight. Long lines, but will be great!"

Private Bone Spurs might want to be careful chiding people about false claims like fraudulent claims of helping clean up ruble after 9/11.

"Hey fellas... tonight make sure there's only one entrance and that we have Mr. Tudball working the window. It'll look great on the News!"

"You came from the hills. You came from the valleys. And you voted for ME!!!"

Remember, this is West Virginia he's talking about.

Has anyone told Trump yet?

"I was really being tough and so was he," he said. "And we would go back and forth. And then we fell in love. No really. He wrote me beautiful letters."
Yes, this is a real quote.

What a feather in his cap! He and a murdering despot fell in love. How sweet. Next we'll be hearing how Trump could have avoided WW2 because Hitler and he would have really, really LIKED each other. They would have shared a Diet Coke and a pretzel up at the Berghof.

I am touched and humbled that Trump choose the magnificent scenery of my home state as a backdrop for his announcement of this new plateau his relationship with Kim Jong-un has reached.

I can only hope hope they pick somewhere there to announce their engagement. Blackwater Falls, perhaps.

And then they could tie the knot with a bungee jumping marriage ceremony from the New River Gorge Bridge.
