HEADLINE: Ouellettes seek help from psychic in catching daughter's killer
BYLINE: By The Associated Press
BODY:
The parents of a teen-age girl who was found dead in Scarborough last year have turned to a renowned psychic for help in finding her killer.
Robert and Lise Ouellette will talk with Sylvia Browne on the Montel Williams television talk show at 2 p.m. Thursday.
...
In the segment that airs today, Browne tells the Ouellettes that two people, a male and female, were involved, and that a date rape drug was used.
Browne gave names to the Ouellettes off-camera, and the Ouellettes have passed that information on to police.
..
Referring to their conversation with Browne, Lise Ouellette said she and her husband will take any lead they can get.
"It's like anything else," she said. "When you get a lead or you get ... a different view of something, you've got to follow it through."

HEADLINE: A year later, police call slaying 'very solvable'
DATELINE: SACO, Maine
BODY:
It will be a year Thursday since Ashley Ouellette was found slain in Scarborough, but police say they remain confident that the Saco teen-ager's killer will be brought to justice.
"We feel it is a very solvable case," said State Police Sgt. Matthew Stewart. "We have made progress in the last year. We're still receiving information on a regular basis from people in the community."
On Feb. 10, 1999, Ouellette, 15, was found strangled and lying face down in the middle of the Pine Point Road. The Thornton Academy sophomore was last seen alive at a mobile home in a rural section of Saco.
What police need, Stewart said, is probable cause to make an arrest and evidence that will prove their case.
As they await answers about who killed their daughter, Lise and Robert Ouellette appeared last week on the Montel Williams television talk show with Sylvia Browne, a psychic. Browne said Ouellette's killing will be solved within a year and two months.
"The pressure's still on," said Robert Ouellette, after information provided by Browne boosted his confidence in the murder investigation. "They're not letting up. I'm not going to give up either. I'm determined to get the S.O.B. who did it."
...
To help cope with their daughter's death, the Oullettes have gone to a counselor. On Thursday, the anniversary of the slaying, nothing will ward off the memory of the day they learned of their loss.
"A year goes by and it doesn't ease the pain," Robert Ouellette said. "Not having her around. Not seeing her grow up. I know I won't have that opportunity to walk her down the aisle and see her have a family of her own."
According to the county and state where the girl was killed, it is not solved. That means 1) the names and other information Browne gave were, to say the least, of little use and 2) Browne was wrong about saying the case would be solved in a year.
